METAL DISCS

Reflective and highly decorative, metal discs add a finishing touch to lions. They’re usually glued on the head and sewn on the tail. The light reflecting off these metal discs is sometimes the first thing your audience will notice. Approximately 120 metal discs per bag.

Metal Disc Attachment
Metal discs have the bonus function of hiding minor imperfections in the paint. Attach the metal discs symmetrically with a hot glue gun. Work quickly. Metal gets hot when hot glue is applied. White glue and rubber cement can also be used, but they don’t dry as quickly and can leave unsightly areas if excess adhesive oozes.

When sewing metal discs onto a tail, use the strongest thread you can find. The thin metal wears through cheap thread more quickly than you’d like.

How many bags of metal discs should you buy? One bag is usually enough to replace missing metal discs from your existing lion. If you’re making a new lion, then one bag for the head, one bag for each pair of pants, and two bags for the tail should suffice.
